FAQ

THE ART OF TRANSLATION IN THE AGE OF AI: A GUIDE TO MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE

While artificial intelligence serves as a powerful productivity tool, its arrival in the translation industry has raised far more questions than it has delivered the miraculous solutions it claimed to offer. I have therefore compiled the answers to the questions my clients ask most frequently, helping you navigate the implications of this so-called revolution and select the professional service best suited to your needs.

My Professional Profile

AI and Human Translation

Services, Rates, and Guarantees

Q : Who are you, and what is your background?

A : A qualified, full-time freelance translator since 2011, I support institutional, academic, nonprofit, and private-sector clients with their international communications. Drawing on 15 years of professional experience, I bring a dual academic background to my work, holding Master’s degrees in Translation and in Sociology, both earned with honors. I am also a member of the Association of Literary Translators of France (ATLF) and the French Society of Translators (SFT), and a signatory to their code of ethics.

Q : What are your areas of specialization?

A : Since 2011, I have steadily built recognized expertise across three key sectors:

  • Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS): This is my primary focus and my academic background. I translate books, research articles, and press materials in sociology, anthropology, history, psychology and psychotraumatology, coaching, personal development, ecology, economics, and architecture. These translations are most often commissioned by publishing houses, research centers, or specialized journals.
  • International organizations and NGOs: In the field of international development and humanitarian aid, I translate reports, advocacy materials, and institutional communications, safeguarding the content to ensure it retains its full impact on partners and donors.
  • Cultural institutions and luxury tourism: I translate heritage-related content, travel guides, coffee-table books, and thematic articles tailored to international travelers. I primarily work with publishers, historical landmarks, and travel agencies.

Beyond these specialties, I readily adapt to other sectors through rigorous terminology research—a fundamental part of my craft. It is inherently part of a translator’s job to conduct reliable terminology research in a field outside their immediate expertise. In this regard, you will find a nearly exhaustive list of all the fields in which I accept translation projects on the website’s homepage.

Q : Why pay a translator when AI is practically free?

A : As impressive as AI-generated translations may seem, they never actually achieve true professional quality. Simply put, the sheer volume and variety of decisions a human translator makes spontaneously—and even instinctively—with every sentence are far too great for the algorithmic randomness of AI to replicate consistently. Thinking you can steer the machine with mega-prompts is an illusion.  AI consistently fails when confronted with the multidimensional subtleties of translation. Turning to a professional remains the only way to imbue your text with a genuine soul and an identity capable of winning over your reader.

Q : Why isn’t a detailed prompt enough to get a perfect AI translation?

A : To ensure the AI makes the right decisions for every sentence, you would spend far more time crafting an extremely complex prompt than it would take to simply translate the text. Even then, AI struggles to follow intricate instructions across long-form content. Even with a “mega-prompt”, it would fail to capture the nuances required to achieve professional quality.

Anticipating every translation issue in a prompt is counterproductive. You achieve better and faster results through 100% human translation or expert AI post-editing.

Q : Why does AI fail to produce 100% reliable, publishable translations?

A : Translating has never been an exercise in probability, and certainly not a matter of swapping words for supposed equivalents. Translating is primarily about adapting; it means making consistent decisions throughout the text, whether regarding Anglicisms (some can and sometimes must be retained, while others must be excised), syntax, terminology, cultural adaptation, source-oriented versus target-oriented approaches, style, tone, or language register. Each sentence opens up a multidimensional inquiry that the human translator must resolve—through a succession of subjective arbitrations—before moving on to the next.

However, these parameters are so numerous, and the balance so delicate to strike for each one, that AI misses the mark almost every time. Worse still, it sometimes injects hallucinations absent from the original text, or outright omits certain passages for obscure technical reasons.

Q : Does AI actually save money on a translation?

A : AI can indeed save time and money, if—and only if—you are willing to retain the overall syntax and the bulk of the terminology choices it generates, and have the entire text reviewed by a professional translator (the core principle of post-editing) to yield a publishable result. But in doing so, you sacrifice the distinctive craft a human translator brings—the identity, soul, and vitality required to truly captivate your reader.

Q : What does your “AI Post-Editing” service entail?

A : In AI post-editing, I assess your text before engineering a custom prompt to generate a first-draft AI translation, typically built on an initial DeepL Pro engine. This is how I save time and, consequently, pass those savings on to you. Next, I take this raw material and sculpt it, editing and polishing it into a professional, publishable translation.

The final result is flawless, yet it stops short of ultimate linguistic tailoring. This is what I call the Performance Standard. If you want the Excellence Standard, you must excise all machine translation from the workflow and request the haute couture of translation: 100% human translation.

Q : What does your “100% Human Translation” service entail?

A : When you order a “100% human translation,” you are commissioning linguistic haute couture. This is what I call the Excellence Standard. Every translation project breaks down into three successive phases: the translation itself, editing (improving the translation in every possible aspect), and proofreading (hunting down final errors, refining specific phrasing, verifying strict adherence to typographic standards, inserting missing non-breaking spaces, etc.). In AI post-editing, the first phase is delegated to an artificial intelligence. Here, that is out of the question. I take full charge of translating your text. To do so, I immerse myself in the material to grasp everything the author invested in its writing—both intellectually and emotionally—in order to render it in a language where every word is calibrated to open the doors of French culture wide.

Calling it 100% human translation is technically a slight misnomer, as it implies that no digital resource intervenes in the workflow.  This is obviously not the case. Translators have always leveraged every tool at their disposal to conduct the research necessary to fulfill their mission. Simply put, if you order a 100% human translation, artificial intelligence is relegated to the role of a research assistant, helping to explore the internet and elucidate any ambiguities in the source text. But under no circumstances does it replace the translator. This embodies the core distinction between the Human-in-the-Loop principle (AI does the heavy lifting, the human guides it) and the AI-in-the-Loop principle (AI is merely one tool among many assisting human labor).

To put it another way, 100% human translation is the blank-page method: the only way to unleash the translator’s potential for transcreation—a dimension of the craft that serves as the ultimate key to superior quality.

Q : What is “source-text interference,” and why can’t AI eliminate it?

A : Source-text interference refers to all the more or less blatant calques of the original language (Anglicisms or Hispanisms) produced by artificial intelligence in its French translation. We find them primarily in vocabulary, set phrases, and, increasingly, in syntactic constructions.

This interference stems from two distinct sources: the AI’s intrinsic inability to detach from the source text, or widespread calques creeping into everyday French that remain unacceptable in professional work. Consequently, translation prompts alone cannot prevent them, making the expertise of a human translator indispensable for hunting down the Anglicisms continually creeping into the French language.

Q : Why isn’t a strict instruction in a prompt enough to prevent AI from generating Anglicisms?

A : When linguistic interference (most often an Anglicism) originates from the source text, it means the artificial intelligence has failed to produce a sufficiently idiomatic translation in that specific instance. You might assume that simply inserting a strict instruction into a translation prompt would suffice to avoid such calques. Unfortunately, reality is far more complex: LLMs are simply too unpredictable to balance linguistic creativity with normative rigor, making interference inevitable.

It is easy to see why an AI struggles to determine whether a specific Anglicism—one that has been creeping into everyday language (and thus into its database) for only four or five years—is acceptable in a given editorial context. And what about brand-new Anglicisms that introduce outright errors into French, only to be mirrored blindly by the AI?

Q : Why is human intervention essential for filtering out Anglicisms?

A : Many of these Anglicisms—which no professional-quality translation can tolerate until they are fully assimilated into the rules of French (the dialectic of error and rule being a lengthy sociocultural process)—are introduced by the scientific community. Indeed, because English has become the universal language of science, it is often our most eminent scholars who import the highest volume of Anglicisms into the French language.

However, artificial intelligence—itself trained on vast reservoirs of English and French data riddled with illegitimate Anglicisms—is simply unequipped to detect and excise them from your translation. Only a seasoned professional, armed with enough experience to remember how French was spoken and written 25, 20, 10, or 5 years ago, can determine which Anglicisms are acceptable in a translation (academic or otherwise) and which must be rigorously weeded out.

Q : What is the “Print-Ready” guarantee, and why is orthotypography crucial for your publications?

A : The Print-Ready guarantee means your translation is delivered ready for publication or printing, requiring zero revisions on your end. This demands strict adherence to French orthotypography—the rigorous set of rules governing punctuation, capitalization, and text formatting, acting in tandem with spelling and grammar rules.

One of the most critical aspects of this work involves managing non-breaking spaces. However, lacking any real typographic knowledge, AI generates text through simple statistical probability; consequently, the integration of non-breaking spaces—vital for layout—remains entirely hit-or-miss. As a result, when you integrate the text into a website or print layout, these punctuation marks risk breaking away from their preceding words, producing unsightly errors (for instance, an isolated exclamation mark at the beginning of a line). The proofreading phase, which caps off any translation, AI post-editing, or editing project, guarantees a flawless typographic code: your texts maintain a seamless, aesthetically pleasing, and professional layout, regardless of your final publication medium.

Q : Can you provide examples of Anglicisms or French language errors commonly found in AI-generated translations?

A : Examples are legion. The statistical foundation of artificial intelligence is simultaneously its strength and its Achilles’ heel: AI feeds on massive web-scraped databases, yet remains utterly incapable of producing the slightest sociolinguistic value judgment. If millions of users write “je vous partage ceci” on LinkedIn, the algorithm deduces from this high frequency that it constitutes a valid French phrasing. However, despite its prevalence, this phrasing is grammatically incorrect and entirely unacceptable in professional-grade text.

In short, AI absorbs all manner of verbal tics and language errors. Because social media and the corporate world serve as the primary vectors for these Anglicisms and barbarisms, AI ingests them en masse and systematically regurgitates them when asked to translate a text. Consider a few glaring examples of this interference:

  • Literal calques and corporate jargon:
    • “Adresser un problème” (from “to address”) instead of “le résoudre,” “l’aborder,” or “se pencher dessus.”
    • “Prendre des actions” (from “to take action”) instead of “prendre des mesures” or “passer à l’action.”
    • “Être aligné avec” (from “aligned with”) instead of “être aligné sur,” “en accord avec,” “conforme à,” or “en cohérence avec.”
    • “Ça résonne avec” (from “it resonates with”) instead of “ça fait écho à,” “ça évoque,” “ça rappelle,” or “ça me parle.”
    • “L’industrie” (from “industry”) used incorrectly to designate a sector of activity or a field.
    • The expression “être la meilleure version de soi-même” instead of “donner le meilleur de soi-même,” for instance.
    • …
  • Vocabulary false friends:
    • “Les évidences” (from “evidence”) used incorrectly to discuss proof, data, or a body of clues.
    • “Définitivement” (from “definitely”) used instead of “résolument” or “absolument.”
    • “Iconique” (from “iconic”) overused instead of “mythique,” “emblématique,” or “légendaire.”
    • “Attractions” to designate tourist sites or points of interest.
    • “Populaire” (from “popular”) to describe a highly sought-after, prized, or appreciated venue or product.
    • “Inspirant” (from “inspiring”) employed instead of “stimulant” or “source d’inspiration.”
    • “Vibrant” (from “vibrant”) employed instead of “vivant,” “animé,” or “plein de vie.”
    • …
  • Barbarisms and usage errors tied to social media:
    • The clumsy and erroneous use of adjectives like “sécuritaire” to mean safe, or “qualitatif” to mean high-quality—which carries the added drawback of stripping these two terms of their original meanings (referring to security policy and investigative methodology, respectively).
    • The reproduction of syntactic errors proliferating online, such as the phrase “je veux vous partager ceci” (instead of “je veux partager ceci avec vous,” or “je veux vous faire part de ceci”).
    • The abuse of the word “juste” used as an adverb of emphasis calqued from English (it’s just amazing!), instead of “tout simplement” (“c’est juste incroyable!” instead of “c’est tout simplement incroyable!”).
    • Lazy injunctive phrasing such as “vous cherchez juste à vous protéger des intempéries” instead of “l’objectif est simplement de se protéger des intempéries…” or “vous ne voulez pas rentrer en stop…” instead of “mieux vaut éviter d’avoir à rentrer en stop…”
    • Expressions like “être confortable” or “devenir confortable avec” (from “to be/get comfortable”) instead of “être à l’aise” or “s’habituer à.”
    • “Être une fraude” (a literal calque of “to be a fraud”) instead of “être un imposteur.”
    • …

These represent just a few examples. Driven by globalization and the immediacy of digital exchanges, these faulty phrasings enter written and spoken French en masse, long before the rules of the language have time to digest them. It is precisely this chronological lag—between the breakneck speed of technological evolution and the necessary slowness of human sociocultural processes—that renders AI incapable of positioning its translation at the correct distance from the source language.

Furthermore, because the source data for these algorithms is fundamentally Anglophone, we paradoxically encounter these exact same Anglicisms when translating from Spanish into French. And it is futile to insert a strict instruction into a prompt demanding that it avoid such interference: incapable of distinguishing between an unacceptable neologism and an English-calqued expression that has achieved legitimacy, the AI will fail to make the right decision. The professional translator thus stands as the sole bulwark to track down and eliminate these automated artifacts, guaranteeing an idiomatic, fluid text that complies with the current rules of the French language.

Q : How do you guarantee the confidentiality of my documents?

A : Protecting your data remains an absolute priority, tailored to the service tier you select.

If you opt for AI post-editing, I exclusively utilize professional, secure versions (paid licenses) for both DeepL Pro and the Large Language Model (LLM) generating the initial draft. This technical framework contractually guarantees the secure processing of your documents, ensuring they will never be used to feed or train artificial intelligence. Your texts therefore remain strictly confidential and isolated from any unauthorized online exposure.

However, for highly strategic, unpublished documents, or those covered by trade secrets, 100% human translation remains the ultimate guarantee of confidentiality. Under this framework, your files never pass through third-party servers: they remain exclusively between you and me, protected by strict professional secrecy. If your company policy requires it, I am fully prepared to sign your own non-disclosure agreement before initiating the project. This represents the ultimate level of security—a locked vault for your information.

Q : What are your rates?

A : My rates are transparent and scale with the level of precision and complexity your project requires.

For my two primary translation offerings, the pricing structure is as follows:

  • Human Translation (the haute couture): From €0.09 to €0.12+ per source word.
  • AI Post-Editing (the designer ready-to-wear): From €0.05 to €0.07 per source word.

The final per-word rate is established via a custom quote. It fluctuates based on the text’s technicality, literary style, conceptual density, critical apparatus, and the contextual research required for its translation.

Regarding standalone editing (on an already translated text) or proofreading (on a text drafted in French), I never apply a blind flat rate. I first conduct a free assessment of your document to evaluate the required level of intervention, subsequently providing you with the corresponding quote.

Please note: Regardless of the chosen service, the rate systematically includes typographic finishing (the “Print-Ready” guarantee) and the preservation of your original document’s layout.

Q : When does the translation rate exceed €0.12 per word?

A : This rate applies to “exceptional” projects that present specific challenges and therefore demand an intellectual and technical investment extending far beyond the scope of standard translation. Consider the three main scenarios:

  • Transcreation: For your slogans, advertising campaigns, or high-profile content, the task is no longer mere translation, but rather reinventing your message to evoke the exact same emotion in French. This demands total creativity and stylistic freedom, and consequently, a significantly larger investment of time.
  • Massive critical apparatus: For scientific articles or books containing hundreds of footnotes, citations, or complex bibliographies that require meticulous verification of sources and references to incorporate existing official French translations where available.
  • High conceptual density: For texts of extreme theoretical complexity necessitating a substantial volume of academic or contextual research to guarantee the accuracy of every concept.

Naturally, just like all other tiers, this level systematically includes the Print-Ready typographic guarantee, ensuring you receive a document primed for immediate printing or online publication.

Q : Is the result of AI post-editing identical to a 100% human translation?

A : No, because the intellectual process is fundamentally different.

In AI post-editing, I intervene on a canvas already generated by the machine. My role is to correct, smooth out, and hunt down all linguistic interference to deliver a faithful and natural text. This is an exceptionally effective solution for your day-to-day communications and high-volume content (product/service descriptions, blog posts, newsletters, etc.). However, the result remains constrained by the AI’s underlying syntax and terminology, inevitably yielding a more neutral tone.

Conversely, 100% human translation (the Haute Couture tier) is built ex nihilo, starting from a blank page. I deconstruct the foreign syntax to rebuild a 100% French sentence architecture. This is the only way to break free from the source language and breathe genuine rhythm, personality, and stylistic identity into your text. It is the essential choice for your commercial and editorial publications, or any content designed to captivate and persuade your reader.

Q : How does your background in sociology benefit your translation work?

A : Translation never boils down to a simple transfer of vocabulary from one language to another; it is, above all, a complex exercise in cultural transposition and discourse analysis. My Master’s degree in sociology (research track) equips me with a highly effective analytical framework to examine your texts in depth, looking far beyond the mere words.

This academic background yields three concrete benefits that guarantee the reliability of your projects:

  • Expertise in the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS): This serves as the direct extension of my university background. I command not only the language, but also the theoretical concepts, internal debates, and scholarly culture specific to these disciplines. Whether in sociology, history, or psychology, I can fully grasp and render the author’s thought with a precision that a generalist translator simply could not achieve.
  • Methodological and terminological rigor: Academic research, epistemology, and investigative methodology demand a relentless analytical mindset. When confronted with dense documents, I apply this same rigor to dissect the exact meaning of every sentence, verify terminology, and ensure no semantic drift alters the scope of the argument.
  • A nuanced understanding of power dynamics and culture: My knowledge of the sociology of organizations, media, and power relations enables me to immediately grasp the unspoken implications and codes specific to each sphere (institutional, academic, or private). Where an AI blindly translates institutional or managerial jargon, I accurately adapt the register and vocabulary to convey the text’s true intent to the French-speaking reader.

In short, my sociological lens allows me to read between the lines of your original text, delivering a French translation of rigorous fidelity that respects the scientific meaning, the author’s intent, and the fluidity of the reading experience.

Q : Why work directly with you rather than with an agency?

R : Choose the craftsman, not the middleman. With a translation agency, you often pay a premium for a service where the final executor remains unknown: you risk having your text subcontracted to anonymous linguists hired on the cheap to preserve profit margins that are not your own.

Entrusting your projects directly to a freelance translator guarantees total control over quality. Consider the advantages of this collaboration:

  • The fair price of expertise (zero intermediary fees): An agency typically applies a 30% to 50% markup to cover its own operating costs (marketing, project managers, office space). By working directly with me, your entire budget is allocated to intellectual production. You thus benefit from top-flight quality at the price of a standard agency service—or even less.
  • Total transparency and a single point of contact: The expert you have chosen handles 100% of your document. Direct dialogue eliminates information loss and enables surgical precision. I become your strategic partner, fully capable of justifying every word choice in your translations.
  • Guaranteed long-term consistency: Agencies frequently outsource to a fluctuating pool of linguists, which can severely undermine the consistency of your messaging. By working with me, you benefit from a cumulative working memory: I build systematic archives of all my translations and, if necessary, create bespoke glossaries for each client. Whether you reach out to me today or in three years, you have the absolute certainty of finding the same high standards, the same stylistic signature, and the same terminological rigor across all your projects.
  • Enhanced confidentiality: Your strategic documents do not bounce from server to server or from subcontractor to subcontractor within a sprawling corporate structure. They remain within a strictly closed loop, exclusively between you and me.

Q : How do I choose between 100% Human Translation and AI Post-Editing?

A : The choice fundamentally depends on the ultimate objective of your document, your target audience, and your budget or deadline constraints. It is a matter of tailoring the level of intervention to the strategic value of your text.

Opt for 100% Human Translation (the Haute Couture) if:

  • The stakes are strategic (brand image, literature, HSS, etc.): A text translated by AI is understood; a text translated by a human is felt. Do not compromise on reader engagement.
  • Style and credibility are paramount: Generative AI creates a surface-level illusion, but only an expert eye will detect the Anglicisms and other linguistic awkwardness that undermine a serious argument. Your readers will sense this too, and they deserve better than a merely “correct” translation. By recreating the text ex nihilo, I breathe genuine personality into your message.
  • Confidentiality is absolute: Your documents contain sensitive information or trade secrets and must not pass through any external servers.

Prioritize AI Post-Editing (Ready-to-Wear) if:

  • The goal is strictly informational or technical: This is the ideal solution for internal use or technical documentation, where productivity gains take precedence above all else.
  • You wish to optimize your budget and deadlines: You benefit from an optimized rate, as I leverage the machine-generated linguistic structure to accelerate the process.
  • A more neutral structure is acceptable: The machine handles the heavy lifting, while my intervention corrects semantic errors and guarantees perfect orthotypography, all while retaining the bulk of the initial syntactic structure.

When in doubt, do not hesitate to submit your file: a free preliminary analysis of your document will allow me to steer you toward the most appropriate solution.

Q : With the advent of AI, is it finally possible to get high-quality translations on tight deadlines and at rock-bottom prices?

A : Unfortunately, no. While artificial intelligence has considerably accelerated the production of readable texts, it has not abolished the iron law of project management—the classic iron triangle: “Speed, quality, low price: pick two.” Attempting to combine literary quality, execution speed, and low cost remains a technical impossibility. Here is why:

  • The structural ceiling: AI operates via statistical probabilities, locking it into a rigid, hyper-predictive structure more or less calqued from the source language. It produces a surface-level fluency that often creates an illusion of quality, but upon reading, the veneer quickly chips away to reveal all manner of Anglicisms and a monotonous neutrality that discredit the argument.
  • The gap between being understood and being felt: A raw AI-generated text is generally understood by the reader, but it fails to create any engagement. To achieve premium quality (rhythm, identity, the human touch), you must break free from the machine and reconstruct ideas ex nihilo from a blank page. This meticulous craftsmanship demands a time investment that no algorithm can shortcut.
  • The unavoidable cost of reliability: AI is sociologically blind and remains prone to hallucinations (fabricating facts, omissions, or cultural misinterpretations). To guarantee absolute fidelity to both the source text and the target cultural context—and to protect your brand image—expert human review remains indispensable.

Faced with this reality, I offer two solutions tailored to your challenges:

  • The ideal compromise (AI Post-Editing): You receive a faithful and fluid French text within a timeframe and budget that a 100% human translation simply could not match. This is the perfect agile solution for your internal communications or content where the urgency of the information takes precedence over stylistic refinement.
  • Uncompromising Quality (100% Human Translation): If your goal is to convince, move, and ensure your brand resonates deeply with your target audience, supreme quality will always come from the craftsmanship of custom work and starting from a blank page.

Q : What does your “Editing” service entail?

A : Editing is for you if you already possess a translated text AND its original version (whether the initial translation was executed by a human or an artificial intelligence). My role is to step in, audit, and definitively safeguard your content. Because a pre-existing translation can conceal deep structural errors or misinterpretations beneath surface-level fluency, I never apply a blind flat rate without prior analysis. My service therefore includes:

  • A free assessment: I analyze the quality of the provided document against its original version to evaluate the required level of intervention (light, moderate, or heavy).
  • A comprehensive comparative review: I guarantee absolute fidelity to the source text while hunting down false friends, Anglicisms, and other awkward French phrasing.
  • The Print-Ready guarantee: Beyond meaning, I execute a rigorous orthotypographic review (non-breaking spaces, punctuation, capitalization, etc.) to deliver a technically perfect document, ready for publishing or posting online.

Q : What does your proofreading service entail?

A : Proofreading is for you if you have a text drafted directly in French that may fall short of publication standards, or if you are simply unsure of its quality. Unlike editing, this process focuses exclusively on your French writing, without referencing a source text. I take charge of assessing your document to provide you with a tailored quote. My service guarantees a flawless final text by acting on four distinct levels:

  • Textual hygiene: The elimination of all objective errors (spelling, complex grammar, syntax, homophonic confusions, etc.) and strict adherence to typographic standards (French quotation marks, data formatting, non-breaking spaces, etc.).
  • Stylistic refinement: I erase clunky phrasing by hunting down repetitions and verbal tics. I replace weak verbs with precise vocabulary to optimize the overall readability of your message.
  • Pragmatic verification: I validate the consistency of numerical data, the appropriateness of the language register for your target audience, and, depending on your needs, the inclusivity of the discourse.
  • The Print-Ready guarantee: I apply strict typographic standardization (French quotation marks, data formatting, rigorous management of non-breaking spaces, etc.). You receive a technically perfect, stable document, ready for immediate printing or online publication.

Q : What file formats do you support (HTML, InDesign, etc.)?

A : My objective is to integrate as seamlessly as possible into your production pipeline, sparing you tedious manual adjustments or costly copy-pasting. This is why I am equipped to work directly within a vast array of native formats:

  • Standard office software: The Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Web and Code formats (HTML, XML, etc.): I work directly within your source code. Tags are rigorously respected, isolated, and protected throughout the translation process. The delivered text thus integrates perfectly into your website’s architecture without ever breaking its structure.
  • DTP/Layouts (InDesign, etc.): I process your export files directly (such as .idml files). My work environment extracts the text while protecting the entirety of your tags and formatting. You thus receive a translated file ready to be reopened by your graphic designer. This spares them long hours of manual copy-pasting and eliminates any risk of integration errors, leaving them free to focus on refining the final layout.
  • PDF: Evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Working directly within your native files represents the logical extension of my Print-Ready guarantee: the text I deliver to you is not only linguistically flawless, but also technically ready to be printed or posted online.
